Why we started
Every homeowner knows the problem. Quotes that are a guess. Trades who don’t turn up. Jobs that drag on, cost more than agreed, and still aren’t right at the end.
Propfix came out of eighteen years running an award-winning estate agency in Ruislip, where we looked after repairs and maintenance on hundreds of homes and more than 9,000 individual jobs. We saw every way a job can go wrong, and we saw what the good trades did differently.
So we built the company we wished we could have called. One team for everything around the house, a proper itemised quote before anyone sets foot in your home, and a simple promise: if something isn’t right, we come back and put it right.
We started with homeowners in North West London and the Home Counties, and that is still where most of our work is.
Meet the founder
Peter Lawrence
Founder, Propfix · Member, Federation of Master Builders
Peter has worked in property since 1996 and founded the estate agency Lawrence Rand in 2008, growing it into a firm managing hundreds of homes that went on to win 28 national estate-agency awards. That meant a great many boilers, roofs, leaks and refurbishments along the way, and a very clear view of what separates a good trade from a bad one.
Propfix is what he built from that experience: a maintenance company run with the care of an agent who has to answer to the homeowner every single time.
I’ve been on the other end of the phone when a job goes wrong. Propfix is built so that it doesn’t, and so that if it ever does, you know exactly who to call and what happens next.

We sit in the middle, so you’re protected.
We don’t pass your number to a tradesperson and hope for the best. Propfix is your contractor. We quote the job, book it, manage it and guarantee it. The person who turns up is a vetted, insured specialist from our network, working under our paperwork and to our standards.
One company is responsible for the whole job. That company is us.

- 02Your money is protectedYou pay Propfix, never the trade directly. The trade is only paid once you have approved the finished work.
- 03Proper paperworkWe are members of the Federation of Master Builders. Every job is documented, every quote itemised, every deposit accounted for.
